Mission Statement

Our mission is to be a preeminent, statewide, industry-led advisory committee  providing service, innovation, leadership, vision, influence, and relations that celebrate and incorporate the excellence in education from postsecondary students, educators, administrators, and  business and industry communities from across the State of California for the State Chancellor’s Office.

Service… The constituents BESAC serves are the Chancellor’s Office,  postsecondary students, educators, administrators, and the business and industry community across the State of California.

Innovation… BESAC develops new pedagogy for curriculum improvement, cutting-edge professional development for faculty and administrators, world-class student support structures, and a dynamic forum for highly collaborative and collegial partnerships.

Leadership… The academic community looks to BESAC as an organization with credibility and integrity to provide leadership in performance accountability, new and innovative pedagogy for curriculum development and improvement.

Visibility….  BESAC offers its membership an opportunity for participation to address performance accountability, foster student support structures, partnership development, new technologies, best business practices, and new education courses, while addressing curriculum and staff development.

Excellence… BESAC recognizes and celebrates excellence in education by identifying and promoting best practices, standards, and educational excellence.

Relations… On behalf of its constituents, BESAC develops influential, powerful working relationships with the Academic Senate, Career Technical and Economic Workforce Development (EDPAC), Regional Consortia Chairpersons, and Discipline/Industry representatives.
